The Final Countdown

With the Best of VCU issue upon us, The CT is bringing a lot of things to the table. Today also happens to be my last column. We have made it a long way, from the 2008 presidential election, to my personal thoughts on the meaning behind baking different types of cakes.
Therefore, to bring everything back full circle, here you have it: the last list of random things I have been thinking about lately-including some of my always appreciated, sage advice.
1. Go cruising
There are going to be some sizzling hot temperatures for the next few days. Take advantage of this beautiful weather and be one of those people who cruise around campus with obnoxious music blasting. Just don't forget the "stunna shades."
2. Throw a giant "let's get ready for summer" rager
There is no better way to de-stress after finals than to find a friend with a backyard, buy some tiki torches and party in a way that will make Lindsay Lohan look like a nun. Also, find a friend with a grill. Food is a great add-on for a rager-and it's cookout season.
3. B.Y.O.B. parties
In the three years I have been at VCU, I can count on my hand the times I have been to a party that wasn't B.Y.O.B. It is what you should expect when partying in Richmond. My friends and I used to mourn the fact that we would have to make sure we were well supplied before going out, but I would rather be bringing my own beverages than attend school in Harrisonburg for even one day. Farms make me dangerously antsy.
4. R.I.P. Bea Arthur
With the loss of Estelle Getty in July, and then with the passing of my personal favorite, Bea Arthur, it has been a rough year for "The Golden Girls." There will never again be a sitcom like "The Golden Girls." Before, "sitcom" meant Ray Romano being terribly unfunny on CBS for nine seasons. "The Golden Girls" consisted of people who could have been your grandmothers sitting around a kitchen table and warming American hearts.
5. "The Hills" > "The City"
