Bush and quarterback Matt Leinart, the 2004 Heisman Trophy winner, will likely be the first two players selected in the 2006 NFL Draft. And Bush will certainly be going home with the Heisman Trophy this year. Plus, Texas quarterback Vince Young likely blew his chance at football's most prestigious award with a statistically lackluster game Friday against Texas A&M.

Bush is by far the most exciting player in college football since Michael Vick, who by the way was beaten out by Ron Dayne for the award in 1999.

Speaking of Virginia Tech, the Hokies look to be back in the hunt for the Atlantic Coast Conference championship, not to mention a Bowl Championship Series bowl game. This was certainly not expected after Miami simply kicked their butts two weeks ago. But the Hurricanes seemed to be looking past their most recent opponent and were upset Saturday by Georgia Tech, sending them plummeting to ninth in the BCS standings.

This jumbles the BCS rankings once again. Virginia Tech ranks fifth, behind Louisiana State and third-ranked Penn State, who was picked to finish toward the bottom of the Big 10 Conference this year. Critics around the country had been calling for Head Coach Joe Paterno's retirement after a couple of down years.

Now Penn State could be looking at the national championship if Texas or USC falters in the next couple of weeks. Texas plays Colorado in the Big 12 Conference championship game. USC travels across town to the University of California-Los Angeles to end its regular season Saturday.

But let's face it, Paterno still has it. He's a great coach who this year has put young players in skill positions and won. His star recruit and freshman receiver, Derrick Williams, who has said Paterno's handwritten letter to him while in high school played a big role in his choosing to attend Penn State, is sadly injured for the year. But Paterno is still winning.

Announcement: All coaches who should retire or be fired please step forward. Not so fast, Joe.
